Effects=Good?

Post by Ijexis on Sat Feb 23, 2008 9:58 pm

I've just always been a bit perplexed with the conception that the more effects a person uses, the better a lot of novices think the vid is, regardless of flow, story, sync, and how crappy the effects look. I like effects but only when they help to enhance the AMV and don't ruin the experience of watching it.

Good use of effects = True Fiction
Bad use of effects = ...too many to list...

True that, we wouldn't be able to name all the bad examples. Shocked RoS3 better be in the good examples list Razz

Very true xD i think that an AMV should just try to pass a point across, if effects help this point get across then they should be used CORRECTLY. If the effects are just there to look "pretty" (which they don't) then it makes the AMV look worse (in my eyes)

The truth is, you'll most likely get more appreciation without effects, since it's very common that certain people have problems with certain effects, that another may, or may not appeal to. But theirs nothing really to complain about if their aren't any effects at all, except for the concept of lacking a certain amount of effects. Either way, their going to be people who only like effects, and people who hate effects. Reguardless of anything else. Then theirs the normal people, the people who are less retarded, that is okay with anything, as long as it keeps a mutual balance. Randomized effects is usually a concept of interupting many viewer's opinions. Use effects correctly ...

I agree with what gaarahungry said

To noobs, effects show "skill" in videos because their all like "holy crap! That person just used so many fugly colors and weird shapes that fly everywhere! that mustve taken soooo long its sooo cool!!" I guess they see that more effects = more effort = better amv... Well thts what i used to think Rolling Eyes
